Customer FAQs
Outcomes-first modernization, delivered by one accountable partner.
What does Kumo Development actually do?
Kumo modifies and modernizes existing homes and offices so they can reliably support modern energy systems, connectivity, safety, and emerging services. We take responsibility for how the environment works as a whole.
Does Kumo build new homes or offices?
No. Kumo does not build new structures. We work with existing homes and offices, upgrading foundational systems so they work better today and remain adaptable over time.
Is Kumo a smart-home or automation company?
No. Devices and automation are secondary. Kumo focuses on the environment itself—power, electrical capacity, safety, connectivity, and physical readiness—so anything layered on top functions reliably instead of becoming fragile.
Do I need to understand the technology to work with Kumo?
No. Kumo is designed for people who want outcomes, not complexity. You describe what you want to achieve—independence, reliability, or reduced coordination—and we translate those goals into a working environment.
Will I need to manage contractors or vendors?
No. Kumo is the single accountable partner. We design the scope, manage construction and integration, and can remain responsible for ongoing operations if you choose.
What happens as technology improves over time?
If you choose ongoing service, Kumo continues to operate and evolve the environment so improvements can be introduced gradually and without disruption—rather than through repeated renovations.
Who typically works with Kumo?
Homeowners planning for long-term living, families supporting aging parents, working households seeking calmer operations, and small professional offices where reliability and focus matter.
What are typical project costs?
Residential transformations typically range from $125,000 to $400,000+. Professional offices range from $150,000 to $600,000+. Final pricing depends on site conditions, scope, and goals. The Foundation Assessment produces detailed cost estimates.
Do you offer ongoing service after the project?
Yes. Ongoing stewardship is optional. Residential stewardship ranges from $300–$900/month. Commercial stewardship ranges from $1,000–$3,000/month. This includes monitoring, escalation, technology coordination, and periodic reassessment.
Do you serve areas outside Texas?
Currently, Kumo serves customers across Texas only. We are preparing for selective expansion.
